CHRISTMAS IN PORTUGAL



Christmas is a family party.
24th December is Christmas Eve and 25 th is Christmas Day.
In Portugal people decorate their houses with stars, candles, coloured balls and chains. In the garden de people have a Christmas tree.
People usually go to the church in 24th December to see midnight Masse.
At Christmas time everbody receives and gives presents. On Christmas Eve children hang up their stockings at the foot of their beds or at the fireplace.
Santa Claus puts the presents there and they open them in the morning of Christmas Day.
People usually eat: bacalhau, vegetables,roast turkey, roast potatoes, King's Cake (Bolo Rei) and others.
They sing songs -and write Christmas cards.
